Scaling Construction Excellence with Automated Operations
The Client: Waterproofing Integrity
Waterproofing Integrity is a specialist firm providing design services, onsite inspection, and compliance testing across New South Wales. Founded by David Previte in 2019, the company entered the market with a novel agency-style model, moving away from traditional hourly consulting to provide project-based value in the Australian construction sector.
The Challenge: Scaling a Pioneering Business Model
Launching a business is difficult at the best of times, but doing so during a global pandemic while introducing a brand-new service model added layers of complexity. David needed to convince the market of his unique value proposition while ensuring his internal operations could scale rapidly as construction projects—deemed essential services—continued to grow.
Prior to working with Aurelian Group, David explored various point solutions like HubSpot and Xero. While effective in isolation, they lacked the deep connectivity required for a truly seamless organisation.
"When I started Waterproofing Integrity, I wanted to get it right from the beginning so that we had a business that was scalable. I wanted a system that was all-in-one and could connect with other systems somewhat seamlessly as we grew." — David Previte, Founder, Waterproofing Integrity
The Solution: A Seamless "Core Three" Strategy
Aurelian Group was engaged as the Authorised Zoho Partner to design and implement a Zoho One ecosystem. We focussed on a "Core Three" logic, ensuring the three pillars of the business—Sales, Delivery, and Finance—were in constant communication.
The CRM-Project Sync: We built an integration where a signed proposal in Zoho CRM automatically triggers the creation of a project in Zoho Projects and generates dedicated folders in Zoho WorkDrive.
Automated Reporting: For a business built on inspections, reporting is the primary product. We implemented Zoho Forms and document merge features to transform field data into professional, client-ready reports instantly.
Financial Integrity: By connecting Zoho Books, the team can now generate invoices based directly on billable hours tracked against project tasks, eliminating manual data entry.
"Being able to use Zoho's free trial, I got a good understanding of how Zoho One worked, with all of the apps together, and it was really the thing that convinced me." — David Previte
The Impact: Lean Administration and Rapid Growth
What began with three core apps has grown into a comprehensive 22-app ecosystem. By automating the "heavy lifting" of administration, Waterproofing Integrity has maintained a lean back-office while focusing entirely on service quality.
The automation of the inspection reports has been a particular game-changer. Using dynamic logic in Zoho Forms, the team can capture data on-site via iPads, which then auto-generates complex reports with conditional sections and photo evidence.
"The best software system is one that you don't even know is there. You just need things to happen in the background so you can focus on delivering service to your clients. If you're too focused on making your internal services work together, then that means you're not giving attention to the quality of service you're putting out to your client. I'd say that's the biggest advantage we've had with Zoho—the ability to streamline our process and put more resources into the things that our clients actually value." — David Previte
Looking Ahead
As Waterproofing Integrity continues to lead the NSW market, the platform remains ready to evolve. With plans to explore Zoho Connect for internal manuals and Zoho Lens for remote assistance, the digital infrastructure we built together continues to support their mission of making buildings safer for all Australians.
